Urban Art Workshop – Private Group Event
Explore, create, take it home: a hands-on urban art experience for your group
Some art you look at. This one you make yourself. The Urban Art Workshop combines a short guided walk through Düsseldorf’s urban art scene with a hands-on session where your group picks up the spray can, cuts stencils and creates art together. Nobody needs experience, just curiosity and a bit of courage.
Perfect for
- Team building, corporate events and incentive programs
- Birthdays, anniversaries and private celebrations
- Tour operators and travel groups
- Clubs, associations and creative groups
How it works
1. Urban Art Walk (approx. 1 hour)
We start with a guided walk through Bilk. You’ll see works by local and international artists, hear the stories behind them and learn how urban artists think, plan and work. Along the way, your group collects ideas and inspiration for the workshop.
2. Hands-on workshop (approx. 2 hours)
Then it’s your turn:
- Spray can basics: how to handle the can, control lines and work with color
- Stencil art: how stencils work, plus designing and cutting your own
- Group mural: your group creates a piece together on the wall
- Your own artwork: each participant paints and sprays a personal piece on canvas or board
3. The finish
A group photo in front of your mural, and every participant takes home their own artwork.
Art beyond the white cube
Urban art grew out of graffiti, but it has long since become more than that. Many people know it as street art, and that’s part of the story, though not all of it. Urban artists work in studios, exhibit in galleries and show their work in museums. For them, though, the street is not a side stage. It is an essential part of their artistic concept. It’s about democratizing art, shaping the urban environment and inviting everyone to take part in it. In this workshop, your group does exactly that.
