Tomorrow at 7 p.m. we are opening the exhibition by RuediOne titled Flashbacks.
For years, RuediOne was a graffiti writer himself. Documenting his works led him to photography. He himself speaks of passion, obsession, even addiction, that connects him with the medium. Meanwhile, he exclusively uses the camera for his works. For more than a decade, he has been documenting the writer scene and remains its visual chronicler.
His photographs show the active graffiti scene worldwide: be it New York, Sao Paulo or Paris. In his series, documentary photography as a historical document meets abstract snapshots with an aesthetic, independent character. They give us an individual and almost intimate insight into a scene that otherwise remains completely hidden from the viewer.
In addition to numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, RuediOne published his first photo book in 2006. At Pretty Portal, RuediOne shows a selection of atmospheric black and white photographs that allow the viewer to experience the electrifying tension of graffiti artists at work.
