Pretty Portal, the Düsseldorf gallery for street art and urban art, will be showing a solo exhibition by the German graffiti legend Loomit from the end of September.
Mathias Köhler, as Loomit's real name is, has been active as a sprayer since 1983 and can undoubtedly be counted among Germany's most famous and sought-after graffiti artists. It all started with a Bavarian water tower and a subsequent court case.
On a national and international level, the name Loomit is associated with large-format, colorful graffiti that stand out due to their extreme three-dimensionality. Letters and words distorted beyond recognition become image and space themselves. Imaginative scenarios full of secrets that make Loomit the epitome of the German graffiti scene.
