Before the summer break, Pretty Portal, the Düsseldorf gallery for Urban Art and Street Art, invites you to the group exhibition "VIER". Here, the artists Suki Bamboo, Aro, Magic and Biserama present themselves for the first time as a group, promising an exciting and creative mix of the familiar and the new.

Ladies first: SUKI BAMBOO - real name Bianca Angela Litscher - has been active as a sprayer since 1992 and has since consistently developed her style through a successful blend of hand stroke and digital technique. The former graffiti artist and trained graphic designer follows her very own striking and romantic illustration style. Her works are characterized by influences from urban street art, modern graphic design, floral Belle Époque and decorative Art Nouveau. For her picture compositions, she places the figure at the center and attaches great importance to the aesthetics of form and harmony of colors.

"Suki Bamboo" - This name also stands for free thinking, creativity, and the ever-present possibility of making dreams come true. Because inspiration is everywhere: observing the environment, perceiving influences, recognizing the essence of things, reducing them to the essentials and communicating the inner images that arise from them and bringing them into an aesthetic form - that is what characterizes Suki Bamboo's work.

Christian Schupp, alias ARO, a graphic designer from Koblenz, cares little about conventions and rules. ARO finds his inspiration in everything he sees and experiences.

These everyday influences, but also dreams and fantasies, are brought to life with the help of the computer. At the end of this creative artistic process are energetic, colorful and always surprising images that, when viewed, inspire new dreams and fantasies.

MAGIC - also known as Oliver Räke - was active as a graffiti writer for many years. Through this work as a writer and graphic designer, he has a strong connection to urban culture. Architecture, the codes of cities and typography are his preferred sources of inspiration.

Oliver Räke is one of the first street artists in the west of the Republic, as he started with his graffiti back in the eighties. In addition to his work as an artist, Oliver Räke is also part of the design studio Dadaluxe in Düsseldorf.

The fourth in this exhibition is BISERAMA. The young artist from Southern Germany goes through the world with open eyes for details and trifles. His works, which, according to him, often come into being between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m., testify to expressiveness and provocation.

No wonder, because fighting spirit, will, honesty and freedom are the driving forces behind his work. Alexander Becherer - Biserama's real name - has always had a soft spot for toys. Accordingly, in addition to his graffiti, he has been working on sculptures for some time, known as "The Teeth Project".

These are unique handmade toys that, in their original form, were reduced solely to lips and teeth, i.e., the mouth with all its diverse properties and possibilities. These bizarre figures consist mainly of hardened alabaster plaster and spray paint. In addition, latex milk, silicone, wood and Plexiglas are also important components of his works.
